Ask Elvis

Why is it that Ask Elvis appears to be quite so funny?

Because it is an oasis in the middle of a what is otherwise a dreary, dreary show

Even though I can appreciate that the 'Ask Elvis' caricature Steve Wright has on the show makes alot of people laugh, I cannot help think that this feature is having an adverse effect on the memory of this great entertainer. Even if Radio 2 provides the token Elvis tracks around the feature to ease their conscience, I and a great deal of his fans (as discussed on various web forums), believe that a joke is a joke and Elvis should
not be the 'butt' of it.

And, oh, "hang on a mo, we are not laughing at Elvis but the caricature", I'm sorry but I do not believe this. I have heard many a time, very cheap and unoriginal joke references about the man himself.

Enough is enough Steve, leave the great man's memory alone.

Well said - although perhaps in stronger language that I would choose, however the point is very well made.

Music, on the Steve Wright show, is very much a second class citizen to mindless quips, pointless banter and infuriating cackles from the Veggie.

The only funny thing left in the show. This bloke loves America so much, why doesn't he f*** off there. Taking Screechy Lee Gross with him. Leaving us with Mark Radcliffe and a bigger show.
