Is there any better example for why I hate Steve Wright?

So, here I am, working away at my desk trying my hardest not to listen to the inane drivel playing on Radio 2 in the afternoons when I hear Steve Wright say to Liza Minnelli:

 

"Can you tell me what it’s like, and I know you're going to be all modest now, but what is it like to hold an iconic status"

 

Now, I’m not debating whether Liza has an iconic status or not – but OH MY GOD, am I ever loathing how Steve Wright takes his role as a complete sycophant to new levels when interviewing anyone well known.
